Digitalization and virtualization are developing rapidly and are profoundly changing processes and business models. Principles, methods and tools will be taught which allow successful use in the wood building sector with the main spotlight on BIM.
Wood is establishing itself in the perception as an ecological and versatile material that arouses emotions and enables high-tech applications in construction. With the current technological state of the art in prefabricated timber construction the doors to Industry 4.0 in construction are opening.
At the same time, on the planning side, Building Information Modelling BIM is becoming more and more prevalent as a method. With BIM [supposedly], we will be digitally networked, the quality of planning improves, construction process accelerated, and a sustainable life cycle of buildings supported.
With the current technological status in prefabricated timber construction, the doors to Industry 4.0 in construction are opening. But analog-based planning routines and old process patterns prevent the potential of digital possibilities and new methods from being exploited. How can digitalization unleash its full effect for the implementation of Industry 4.0 in timber construction?
Digitalization and virtualization are developing rapidly and are profoundly changing processes and business models. Principles, methods and tools will be taught which allow successful use in the wood building sector withthe main spotlight on BIM.
